What Is DataSafe?
DataSafe is a very comprehensive studio management application, designed from the ground up - by two Wedding Photographers! The DataSafe application is widely used by not only Wedding and Portrait photographers, but also by Videographers and Event Co-ordinators.
No more keeping important data on scraps of paper, no more fumbling around when that call comes in from a potential client you met with just yesterday, or maybe it was last year - you can now have all of the information you need, at your fingertips, literally.
How does DataSafe work?
Each client that you enter into your very own DataSafe database is automatically given a unique Client ID. From this ID everything is stored. Sales, payments, emails, etc. Accessing all of this data is easily done, from ONE place. Want to see the price you quoted someone 2 years ago? You can bring it up in seconds! As well as all the other information you took at the time!
What About Different Currencies?
In DataSafe, you have the option to enter your own currency - so whether you are in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, or anywhere else, you can customize your settings.
This also applies to whether you use a Zip Code or Post Code, State or Country - you decide what will be automatically entered.
Where Is My Data Stored?
Unlike other web based applications Venture DataSafe is stored right on your own computer! We regard this as a big advantage because it means you can always have access to your information regardless of whether or not you have an internet connection. It also means that your data will always be yours, and not tied into an agreement with an online provider. As yourself this - if I leave an online provider, how do I get my data back out - can I get it back out?
With DataSafe, you can even store your database on a USB Flash Drive, how's that for accessible. There are no monthly fees for storing your information, since all data is stored on your own computer. Your data, at your fingertips.
Access Client Info - Easily And Anywhere!
If you meet clients in your office, then a remote connection is not required. You have all you need right there. If you have a laptop, then your computer based database can always be with you. And if you meet a client for a coffee in Starbucks, no need to pay Starbucks for internet access - your DataSafe files need no external connections.
Backing Up - How Simple Can It Be?
Things go wrong, sometimes horribly! It's a fact of life. Another fact is that when things are a little awkward to do, we often avoid doing it. Yes, we're talking about backing up! Imagine this - you have DataSafe on your desktop, crammed with everything that your business depends on. You reach for your mouse, right click, select Duplicate, and you now have a full back up. EASY! That's how it should be, right? Right! DataSafe does all this and so much more!
Sometimes, It's The Little Things!
In DataSafe there are lots of "little things", for example the option to set EXACTLY how phone numbers are formatted. If you like it to be 222-333-4444, or if you prefer 222 333 4444, it's all up to you. You can customixe it to your own style. Also, there is no need to put dashes, spaces or any other character between the numbers - just type them straight in and DataSafe will sort out the formatting.
Then there is State formatting. Some people like to abreviate, so if you enter simply type mi, DataSafe will realize there are only two characters and format with capital letters, making it MI. But, if you type michigan then DataSafe will format only the first letter as a capital, giving you Michigan.
